Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit, an Indian actress famous for Hum Aapke Hain Koun (Beta Saajan) and Beta Saajan is one of the most well-known Indian actors. She began her career in the 1980s and came to prominence with her performance in the film Tezaab in which she was a part of the cast alongside veteran actor Anil Kapoor. Her next role was in Dil where she was on screen with Aamir. The daughter of a middle class family in Mumbai she began learning to dance at an early age. When she was still in high school, she attempted acting, but most of those early films did not succeed. The actress gained fame and was one of India's top film actresses. Following her wedding the actress took time off from acting prior to returning. Dixit played an important role as a lead actress in Gulaab Gang, a film about women's struggles in India. Dixit was nominated for 15 Filmfare Awards, out of which she was awarded eight. Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award awarded to civilians in India was awarded to her. She has also been recognized for her efforts in the field of social work.
